Redgate Bin 588 Cabernet Merlot 2009

The Redgate vineyard was planted in 1977 by the Ullinger family and is to this day family owned and operated. Redgate's vines are grown on a ridge of ancient soils less than 3km from the Indian Ocean. This unique combination of soils and maritime climate enable Redgate to nurture the 55 acres of vines to produce high quality, boutique wines.

The 2009 Bin 588 is a full bodied blend of Cabernet Sauvignon(88%) and Merlot (12%). The nose has a delicious burst of ripe, dark fruits; mulberry and blackberry aromas followed by a leafy lift. There is plenty of action on the palate, with juicy upfront blackcurrant fruit, hints of chocolate, a subtle oak aromatic lift and fine and persistent, velvety tannins.
